Present Continuous

Uso del Presente Continuo:
 A diferencia del Presente Simple, el Presente Continuo lo utilizamos para expresar acciones que están ocurriendo ahora, justo en el momento de habla del interlocutor. También, lo utilizamos para acciones que no están ocurriendo ahora.
 Forma del Presente Continuo:
Sujeto + am/is/are (forma correspondiente del verbo to be dependiendo del sujeto) + verb in -ing form
  • Affirmative:
Sujeto + am/is/are+ verb in -ing form
Examples: I am reading the newspaper
You are listening to the radio
He/ She is practising tennis
We/ You/ They are swimming in the swimming pool
  • Negative:
Sujeto+ am not/ isn't/ aren't + verb in -ing form
 
Examples: I am not reading the newspaper
You aren't listening to the radio
He/ She isn't practising tennis
We/ You/ They aren't swimming in the swimming pool
  • Interrrogative:
Am/ Is/ Are+ subject+ verb in -ing form
 
Examples: Are you reading the newspaper?
Are you listening to the radio?
Is He/ She is practising tennis?
Are We/ You/ They swimming in the swimming pool?
 
 
Short answers:
Yes/ No+ am/ is/ are
Examples: Yes, I am/ No, I am not
